Aloha Puna !!! Rise and Shine baby!!

If you are a coastal Puna LERZ resident. It’s important you read this article .

We are experiencing the 80mph winds in Pohoiki area since 9pm last night . My house is ripping up and almost lifting off the ground . 1 mile up from Pohoiki (Isaac Hale Beach Park) . How’s the weather in your area? We already are getting reports of downed trees in Leilani Estates at 9:30 am 20/05/21 and this wind is only getting stronger .

Lol so tell me , why do the websites tell us there’s “no “ weather advisories lol?! Come on wtf!

Guys , I need to dig a bit and figure out what’s going on . If you haven’t , go get your food shopping taken care of today . I am . Also , please join the Pohoiki to Kalapana LERZ coastal community association group on Facebook , so we can stay connected during this and any storm . We don’t need to wait 5 days to be rescues by the county if we have a chainsaw and can help a neighbor.
Mahalo. Keep reading for some more info , but make sure to check back at 12pm SHARP for the DETAILED  WEATHER STORM REPORT 12-05-21

Storms are headed straight for us and the Mauna is covered in snow ! Blizzards and wind gusts up to 100 mph up on Mauna Kea !

Suave a gorgeous shot of our Tutu Mauna , current updates for the access road and info on the visitor station is to be found here — http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/info/vis/home.html

On the Mauna we are experiencing more snow THEN THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES . Blizzards are covering Mauna Kea and everyone is ready to go up and snowboard . News reports Up to 12 inches of snow were forecast for parts of the Big Island through Monday, and winds already topped 80 miles per hour. Officials were readying lonely snow plows. The National Weather Service issued the blizzard warning for the summits of 13,796-foot Mauna Kea and 13,678-foot Mauna Loa, among the volcanoes that tower over the Big Island.

The Big Island peaks and a lesser one on Maui get dusted by snow many winters, but blizzards aren’t common; the last one was in 2018. Making this blizzard warning even more jarring is the fact the mainland U.S. is virtually snow-free, even in skiing mainstays like Lake Tahoe and Colorado. Snow covered just 12% of the contiguous U.S. Sunday, among the lowest for that date in two decades, according to the National Weather Service. Only one other blizzard warning was issued over the weekend in the U.S.—in Alaska.

Weather forecasters said a stubborn ridge of high pressure was partly to blame for the mainland’s balminess, while the blizzard in was fueled by an unusually strong local condition known as “a Kona low.”

University of Hawaii officials—who manage the top of Mauna Kea where 13 telescopes are stationed—shut down an eight-mile access road in advance of the storm and said it may be days before plows can reopen it. The school maintains two or three snow plows and two snow blowers on the mountain, according to a university spokesman. “It all depends on the condition of the road, and wind,” said Rodrigo Romo, manager of a visitor information station the university maintains at the 9,200-foot level of Mauna Kea. “It’s very icy snow.”

A huge tree took out a well known home in pahoa open Mainstreet while taking out all electrical in the town , trees went down on the highway backing up traffic all the way to Leilani from Pahoa , and I’ve never seen the waters so upset in my 33 years. Today’s special EPUB RELEASE HAWAII STORM WATCH 2021 will be published  TONIGHT stay TUNED in the Puna estreets .
