Pahoa non profit Laulima Pahoa is holding a registration and toy delivery for the Keiki and seniors effected by dementia in the same households in  areas affected by the 2018 eruption (LERZ coastal communities) of you are in these areas , please register at their Facebook page or on website Facebook.com/laulimapahoa , laulimapahoa.org for the Xmas day delivery .

Email or text me today if you are a local business in or around #pahoa , and if you would like to contribute to the low income families in disaster recovery zones this Christmas day. For the families with 5 keiki or more who registered, Laulima Pahoa will be delivering special family gift boxes , and we are seeking local businesses help in the form of gift cert to your local establishment. This will boost traffic in your store, as well as advertising for you as you will be on our flyers and all ads for this xmas day delivery . We also are seeking monetary sponsorships for the purchaseof new toys and puzzles for the keiki and elder with dementia who we are delivering smiles to this xmas. Hawaiʻi County to Start Road and Water Line Pohoiki Road and Highway 137 Projects in 2023

  On Friday, March 18, 2022, the County’s Department of Public Works, Department of Water Supply, Planning Department’s Disaster Recovery Division and Council Member Ashley Kierkiewicz (District 4) convened a virtual meeting with 50 community members to report on the status of restoring road and water infrastructure impacted by the 2018 Kīlauea volcanic eruption. Participants received information on project milestones achieved to date and anticipated timeframes for construction to occur. “As we look ahead to four years since the 2018 Kīlauea eruption we recognize how important this information is to communities who are still feeling the effects of this event,” said the Disaster Recovery Officer Douglas Nam Le with the County’s Planning Department. “We are acting with urgency and diligence to move these investments in road and water infrastructure forward.
