Update! 5/14/22 Guys I’m super sorry to announce that I in fact will not be there for second Saturday. I was asked to help the Church and the Bishop tonight at Mass for Confirmation of the youth , which is very sacred . I’m sad to see no Laulima Pahoa at the Pahoa Community Center as of yet (maybe they will be soon ) Laulima Pahoa non profit used to be a major pillar of the Pahoa Second Saturdays . I used to be a part of it and helped cook massive amounts of food for everyone and it was something very very special &  why I have the love I do for feeding the community. We used to feed the people every second Saturday with huge free potluck style buffets and free activities for all ages at the pahoa community center , so hopefully Laulima Pahoa can get back into there for the sake of the community , and also for the event attendees then having the benefit of using the parking lot there at the rec for second Saturdays! Mahalo pahoa !! 

Xox sooo excited to see y’all at second Saturday ! It’s gonna be a beautiful night filled with love ringing through Mainstreet and beyond .

Hawaiʻi County to Start Road and Water Line Pohoiki Road and Highway 137 Projects in 2023

  On Friday, March 18, 2022, the County’s Department of Public Works, Department of Water Supply, Planning Department’s Disaster Recovery Division and Council Member Ashley Kierkiewicz (District 4) convened a virtual meeting with 50 community members to report on the status of restoring road and water infrastructure impacted by the 2018 Kīlauea volcanic eruption. Participants received information on project milestones achieved to date and anticipated timeframes for construction to occur. “As we look ahead to four years since the 2018 Kīlauea eruption we recognize how important this information is to communities who are still feeling the effects of this event,” said the Disaster Recovery Officer Douglas Nam Le with the County’s Planning Department. “We are acting with urgency and diligence to move these investments in road and water infrastructure forward.
